I'm installing a liscense plate bracket to replace the oem. Do i have to cut the oem bracket off or is it bolted on? From the looks of things ill be taking a hacksaw to the rearend, not exactly something i wanna do to a new bike... Any help is appreciated, anks.

I'm going to say it before someone else does lol, there is a thread I believe is called "Montana redneck license plate" that says how to do it, I remember looking at that thread and didn't find it very detailed, maybe I'm slow or something, but try searching for that and see if it's detailed enough for you.

as much as this comes up you would think that someone would have came up with a service to do this for people. really i think all someone would have to do is go to a honda dealership and order some of those plastic brackets and hack them up and then ship them out to people and then all the person doing this would need to do is cut the metal bracket and people would probably feel more comfortable doing that then cutting up the plastic. but if you read the other threads you can see that those plastic housings are only like $14 so if you mess it up just order another one, at least that's what i'm going to do if i mess mine up.

in my own head the definition of a thread is a link to a subject that's being discussed, someone else might call it a post or i'm sure there are other terms that people use. like when i came across your thread under the active topics i clicked that link that brought me here, that's what i understand and call a thread.

and your welcome for the link to the other "threads/posts" about this subject. I'm new to motorcycles so a lot of this is new to me also so i have done a lot of reading around here and hopefully when i get home i'll remember this stuff so when i work on my own bike that i wont have such a hard time and i'm sure that while i'm customizing my bike that i'll have to refer to this site or a search on the internet to help me along as i'm going to be very cautious when doing things.
