I just spent a few years on a Ninja H2 and I’m ready to go back to a Fury. I see lots of them listed for sale within a few hundred miles, but they’re all base models. I specifically want an ABS. I’m willing to travel a somewhat unreasonable distance. No salvage titles or abused bikes, please.

You might have a hard time finding someone with an ABS Fury that wants to sell it, unless you want to buy it internationally. In Australia we only have ABS bikes but even then they don't come up for sale often. I'll have had mine 12 years in March and I have no plans to sell it.
On the other hand I think the US 2022 models only come in ABS so you could always buy a new one.

They do, and a few local dealers have them in stock. The trouble right now is that it’s open season for add-on fees. The closest dealer is charging 1300 (rather than Honda’s advertised $449) for delivery, 450 for setup, and 450 for doc fees even though I’m going to finance through my own bank. And they’re not budging off of retail on any units. Including sales tax, that’s about $14,659 out the door for a list price of $11,499.

Find yourself an auto broker and let them do the leg work. We have bought our last three cars through a broker

Good suggestion. A broker will be able to get a deal that a retail customer can't.

That price is about half what it costs to buy a Fury in other parts of the world. In 2010 an ABS Fury was AU $22,000 plus on road costs so about $23,500. In Singapore an ABS Fury was SG $45,000. So even $14,659 for a new ABS Fury is relatively cheap. A good 2010 used Fury with more than 20,000 KLM but less than 50,000 KLM costs about AU $18,000 if you can find one. I had a dealer offer me AU $25,000 as a trade in on a Goldwing but I said it was never going to be for sale no matter how much he offered.

I get that. I am seriously thinking about ordering a new Bronco. I won't go through a dealership that adds on extra profit for themselves just because they happen to be here. I am going to talk to my broker about if I can go through them for that as well.

I can confirm the ABS bike's braking is a lot better than a non ABS bike after having ridden my friend's non ABS bike. I was shocked at the difference as you would not expect the two to be so different. Here in Oz we only get ABS bikes but if you have the choice it is worth the extra $600 to $1000 to get the ABS bike.
Up front you have three pistons on the ABS bike compared to two and at the rear you have two pistons compared to one. Add larger pads for more contact area with the rotors and you get more stopping power. Also the third (middle) front piston is linked with the rear. @Kbuskill did a great write up of the benefits of the ABS braking system and he went to the trouble to fit his non ABS bike with ABS calipers, linked the third front piston with the rear and install a pressure limiting valve to get the same balance as the ABS bike. Essentially he installed an ABS setup but without the ABS controller.

I ride, rain or shine. Even in dry conditions, stopping distance is shorter. In wet, it’s a much shorter, much straighter stop, much more controlled stop. I’ve bottomed out my forks on a few stops when people around me do stupid stuff. It always makes me grateful for ABS. Why it isn’t standard equipment on every vehicle eludes me.
