Hi Ya'll,
So yesterday, I took a "road trip" to visit Low and Mean in Lake Havasu City. I spent all of yesterday afternoon with Chris and most of this morning. It was exactly 199 miles from my house to his shop. We installed the new lowering spring, along with the fork extenders, a new speedometer faceplate and a K&N billet air filter. (Pictures below).
My impressions??? The center of gravity is much lower and feels better to me, especially doing low-speed turns. Chris set the shock adjustment to the softest level, which works well for me. I don't have a back seat, so will never have a second rider. I weigh 190 and the ride home today was "smoother/softer" than the ride up yesterday. While riding home today, the traffic was very light on AZ St. Road 60, so I did some nice "S turns" at 65 MPH, and the bike felt perfect. I also bumped the speed up to the limiter at 100 MPH and that too, felt good (normal). (Please don't turn me in to the AZ DPS)....Ha Ha
I am very pleased at the final results. I hadn't planned on installing the fork extenders until I looked at his Fury in the shop. I'm glad I did now. So the bike is lower in the rear by 1 and 1/2 inches and the forks are extended nearly an inch upward (longer). It makes the bike look more "chopperish" (Is that a word??? I doubt it).
Chris has an excellent shop there, and is very customer oriented. All of his employees seem happy working for him. (That means a lot in my opinion, if the "team" likes what they are doing). He has a lot of new things forthcoming, I'll let him announce items from time-to-time here or on his website.
Don't be afraid to do business with that company.
