Currently not living there but I grew up there and lived there for 27 years.

You definitely have to ride the crater (Mt. Haleakala).

The Sunday Brunch at the Maui Prince Hotel is also very outstanding but don't know the current status as they changed ownership.

I stayed at The Grand Wialea in South Wialea, only spot on for GREAT SUNSETS! And the best HOTEL IVE STAYED AT! Stayed there 10 days then went north to Kanapali, stayed at the HILTON, stayed up there for 10 days loved the south much better... But the North Island will probably have the RENTALS. The Kiehi area down south in Maui might have some too,

What Im sayin is the airport is far from the coast so to speak 45 min drive...The city area will probably have what you need and you will have to drive it back to hotel..

Goggle some stuff, one Fury owner in Maui is a marine Ive seen his post maybe or Honolulu.

There are Harley rentals in Kahului, Kihei, and Lahaina. There are also custom chopper rentals in Kihei, but expect to pay $300+ a day for those. Harley ones run about $150 a day.

I will be there on the 10th of May, the Army is finally sending me to a plush local. 45 months and three tours in Iraq is all it took to get to Hawaii. The Fury should arrive 20 days later so I should be riding by the 1st of June.

What base for Army? MOS?

What type of MOS gets to go to paradise, Im a retired 91 Sierra Preventive Med Spec. I went to Washinton DC and Fort Sam Houston to name a few, even stayed in Officer quarters the whole time during Desert Storm, boy I wish I could have gone Hawaii. I had pick of all bases across US, they must have hid those job slots from us or it was Main land posts for us...

Good luck with the rest of your tour or until you ETS out or RETIRE! HAs stop loss effected your MOS?

Thanks for all the great suggestions guys!! I've talked to Maui HD and they've got 2010 Road Kings for $150.00 per day, so I think that's what I'm going to do. Looking forward to this trip. Just wish it could be longer than 7 nights, but gotta get back for a local show.
