Hey guys

On my last walk around the bike I noticed behind the rear piston a small puddle of rubber like/ tar goo.

Or melted gasket? Well I see they have a .5" rubber square on the base of motor/ next to rear fins piston.

Im concerned that Honda has made a few to many LITTLE mistakes on this first RUN of the bikes.

I have never seen rubber on the block like this! Where the hell are the new puddles of rubber coming from? The rear ehaust is one point. It brackets close to area!!!

Do they use a rubber gasket/seal between engine exhaust manifold and exhaust PIPE brackets?

Next stop HONDA DEALER!!!

I also had this problem, and was the rubber spacer/gromet for the exhaust heat sheild. Noticed shortly after I saw the black "drips" that a small rattle from that area. Turned out that the spacer was slowly melting off the rear cylinder heat shield. Took it up to the dealer, and he took one off another fury on the showroom, and replaced it on the spot. Said he has seen this in past with the VTX as well, just a cheap design.

Since I'm going to be swapping out my stock exhaust anyway, not to concerned with it. Fixed and back to new for now.

Your dealer should handle this under warantee

mine is loose and dealer claims once you remove this small heat shield you can't replace just the grommet.......owners manual says replace "protecter" with new so they ordered new heat shield cover.....not one of hondas better ideas imho

Same here I did not know what it was from now i do , also noticed the heat sheild loose and rattles . If honda replaces gromment under warranty wouldent the new do the same
Like I said, since I'm going to be swapping out the pipes, not really concerned with it happening again.

Definitely not one of the highlight features of this bike, but still love my Fury and wouldn't trade it for anything :)

Actually had this twice to me... the first time was the rubber grommet by the engine block, started off as a small rattle then got annoyting, there is only one rubber grommet there btw. The second time about 3 weeks later was under the secondary? heatshield above the back pipe, this has 3 rubber grommets under that vanity plate. Both times my Honda dealer replaced it for free... Thank goodness for cool Honda dealers! Oh, gonna stick some loc-tite in those pesky screws on top of the engine mount too...
