My late father used to say I would chrome my tyres and seat if it could be done. He found my preference to chrome everything on my bike quite amusing.

There is a joke in Oz that came from a TV show (KingsWood country) where the main character (Ted Bullpit- yes it rhymes with B.. S...) polished everything on his car. When his son in law wanted to borrow the car the reply was " you're not taking the Kingswood, I just polished the dipstick". One day my father asked if I chromed the dipstick on my bike, thinking that was a bit extreme but he laughed his ass off when I said yes I chromed the dipstick. He then asked if I polished it. Yes of course I replied. Dad laughed for about 5 mins straight.
