Well, got my kick ass lookin seat today. It only took me 2 hours to put it on.
Yes, I know that is a long time.
Here was the problem. When I put the stock bracket on the seat it was crooked by atleast a 1/4 inch?? WTF! I said. No matter what I did I could not get both of the damn screws in that F*$^*N fender. Cracked another beer. looked at it. WTF!
Called C&C and of course they said it will be handled but I got the impression that he thought I was wrong. He said "our seats never get returned." I said "look the holes on your seat are crooked.? After he was convinced and I was sending it back to be fixed I had an Idea. I just drilled out the holes on both sides of the bracket and added some washers. One hole toward the front and one hole toward the back. About 1/8in on each side. worked perfect.
Cracked another beer. Sat on it but couldn't ride it. to much beer by that time.
Sat on it for about half hr and I love it. It isn't that it's really much softer but it totally fits different on the ass. The lumbar is awesome. Makes you sit back. Completely different then the stock. If I wasn't drinkin I would say I gained maybe an inch in leg room too. Plus it doesn't cover the tank as much so it too looks longer. This is good.:p The stock will never see the light of day again.
Keep those holes straight C&C. DRINK SOME BEER!:D

How about a pic or two? I'll buy the next round, congrats. How many miles you gonna spend in the saddle tomorrow?

As far as pics go I am going to wait till next week when my black risers will get put on. I'll post then.
As far as riding. None tomorrow. Work. Then my first born turns eight. Gotta entertain the in laws. Give them a steak and a cocktail and they'll be happy.
Now Sunday. I am hoping to put 80 or 100 on. Go with the boys for lunch and hit a couple places. Hope the seat is good. I will say I thought it would be softer. It is a hundred times better then the stock and worth the price.
way to go, MR. you ain't kiddin'...that oem seat is 'lost' in my garage.

showed the wife the new look with my c&c solo and luggage rack. she ragged on me all night about how I was going to "look single" with my solo seat; how would we get to the Keys...blah blah blah.
I reminded her that she was always scared riding.

can't win.

No we can't.
Just tell her she won't need to worry about any girls hittin on ya because when they see your bike they will also see they cant ride on it.
Well, Cant ride on the bike anyway.:D
Looking forward to your review. It’s a shame that C&C won’t try to work with the Sumo Kit.

these young entrepeneurs just haven't figured it out yet. it's a niche market.
they'll never get rich trying to dig the dirt with a one-trick pony.
gotta expand and partner up.
heck, my company has corporate sharing amongst all our business units. one b/u sells a set of widgets that would work well with another type of widget sold by the other b/u...etc.
I thought my seat bracket was off also till I figured out the trick. Dont put the screws in and try to start them in the holes because they will never line up, instead put the seat all the way down on the fender and then push aside the foam and start the screws and the holes will line up. I found if the seat is even a 1/2" lifted off the fender it is impossible to get the screws to start. Hope this helps even though it is a little late.

I appreciate the input.
I did do this. Well, sort of.
I put a screw in and tightened it down all the way which brought down the other side. Still out of whack. Reversed it and out of whack on the other side. Believe me. I tried everything for about 45min.
No big deal. No one is perfect. There will be another seat out of whack some day. Most importantly, the seat is awesome, C&C was going to handle it including all shipping costs. They even emailed me a shipping label.
Some day I will take the seat off and take pics and you will see how obvious the crooked mount is.

And Richard,
I will make this seat work with the sumo.
Just too bad we gotta pay and mod it to make it work.
seat

my c&c seat was not set up right either in fact if u want my opion if they would of not made the holes so far in set it would have been easier to mount i had some trouble with it. but i made a few mods to the seat got my rear pad mounded on it and that is what is holding the seat on. after doing the tony's mod i had to cut some of the fiber glass out on the seat to keep the fender from flareing but i still love the seat u can see it on in my profile. I put 568 miles on it one way to new mexico the butt was tired but was still good to go.
1. they sent MR a shipping label? I paid $20 (incl. ins.) to ship mine back to c&c after all the drama with Amerc. Side Road. i still got charged the 15% restocking charge ($52).
2. when fitting the seat, the tongue doesn't just fit in nice and snug; you have to fit it in, SIT ON IT so it shoves it in more, then, start to tighten the bolts until they're not quite fully tightend--then, sit on it again to make sure that tongue gets shoved up as far as possible.
Best solution: have a friend sit on it while you're tightening.

HMMMMMMM....hey Steveo, did you have any problems getting it in the hole?:D

I didn't have a bit of trouble at all, but then since I bought the Fastback, I only had one screw to put it which lined up just fine. I didn't have to use the stock bracket. That damn thing was a pain in the ass with the stock seat!

C&C provide the screw? You put anything decorative on it since it shows?

Nnnnoooooooo! You use the stock screw, through the little tab they have on the back of the seat. Nothing decorative. The tab and the screw don't bother me. I suppose I could paint the tab black.
btw, for all the c&c buyers who get lumbar support added, I mis-stated a response a while back:
adding an inch of foam to the lumbar did push me fwd and up a tad.
