Mike, that really sucks. Do you have any leads on anything? In times like this, approach it as an opportunity to find something better. I’ll keep my ears open for you.
No leads, have alot of friends in the same situation. there's just no work right now, not in my trade. But yes looking for something new could be a good thing. MIKE'S FURY SHOP??? Also have a friend who selling his lawn care business. Another has everything for a used tire shop, just have to find a building. LMAO maybe go back into the pizza business
Sorry about the layoff, check this search out. Maybe it will have something for you.

Of course getting laid off is never good but maybe it will open new doors for you to an even better living.
I was laid off once years ago and I got a better job in the same field. I got fired from that job and was replaced by someone getting paid half the money I was making. Again I got a better job in the same field and now I am at the top. This would have never happened if I did not get fired or laid off. And the two other companies are out of business.
Just keep moving. You seem to be a smart guy with a lot of skills. This could be good when you look back on it down the road.

There is a laborers union strike going on so I am sitting at home.
No one is working and theses assholes want more money??? I guess 35 bucks an hour is not enough money to push a broom around?? DIP SHITS!
That sucks bro, just remember, you create your own opportunities bro, keep your ear to the ground and you're head up and you'll find something that fits for you, or that will at least get you through the situation.
if you were closer, I have alot of things tat need to be done,,but hard to get done in this sweltering heat we have had since april, crap concrete cant get poured on my driveway extension, really sorry about your situation,,any government jobs that would require you to travel for alittle while for good money ? I know civilan workers here get sent all over the country to assist contractors with stuff for 4-9 months,,there also sending contractors overseas with assist projects to aid other countries that pay extremely well. Im a Retired Marine a buddie of mine just went to morroco to teach them how to build and to aid in a school project,,making like 170k. Here is a listing from our loacl craigslist that the base posted to recruit experienced help...check it out and the government uses craigs list alot. copy and paste that link to your browser.

I just searched Ft Wayne and indianpolis craigs list for skilled trade positions, quite a few on there might want to look there. Various things from Carpet to HVAC to Mechanics to painters etc

Man how close are you to south bend??? you need to goto the skilled trde on south bends craigs list,,there hiring carpenters and framers, looks like one is a supervisor and the other is a laborer ,,sorry i like helping others.
Sorry to hear about your loss man. Hang in there though. I was in the same situation but landed in a company that does SCA (School Construction Authority) work. I went from working for myself in residential to working for a 9-5 job. I havent been happier since this change. Government dough is where its all at. Hours suck but the money is great at 100k+. Check out the Craigslist ads for the gov. work and Im sure you will find something. Check out the approved SCA General contractors list and send resumes to all of them. Thats how I landed my gig.

I’m self employed selling real estate and would love my hours to be 9-5. That sure wouldn’t suck in my world. Sounds like you have a great gig, congrats.:)

I would never go back to being self employed again. I was doing 15 hour 7 days a week. Money was great but the taxes and insurance killed me. In NYC residential work went down hill. Cant compete with the low ballers and make a living. Construction is a rough trade but pays great. Im in it for 24 years now and wouldnt do anything else.
So to the OP hang in there I know what its like!
