I am looking for some feedback from users that have installed a side mount license plate with the light.

What I want to know, is if you ran the light wiring inside the out drive or not?
I'm a little concerned about the drive shaft catching the wire.
I ran a flexible plastic tube on top of the out drive but hate the look of it.
(It's got to go..)

3M fixes all!!!!!!

What i did with mine is ran the wire underneath and held it up with some 3M tape u will never see it or even know its under there and have not had a problem with it at all the only wire u see is right at the light.

I put in a 4 LED pod under the fender and it lights up the plate really well. The wires and the pod are completely hidden. Sorry for the fuzzy pics.. cell phone

Thats a sweet idea. I like that.

Ditto heer on the led pod. Work better than I anticipated and ran it from the harness inside the fender. Much cleaner!!

Underneath is the way to go.
That black plastic flex tubing run's up under the fender to the rear old license light connector.

Going to try that double sided 3M tape suggested and see how it holds.
Then onto the silicone sealant if that doesn't work..

I used the 3m adhesive backed wire loom cable clips for the split loom. They worked awesome. Heres a link to one similar: Cable Clips 9/16 - 3/4

I also used a bunch of them on my Scorpio Alarm System. They worked really nice for the perimeter sensor as well as the main wiring trunk.
