I need to benefit from the cumulative brain power from the people on this forum… so here goes!! Let me state for the record, I’m not a mechanic, I’m not afraid to take things apart but I’m not looking to do these mods for performance. I’m doing it solely to pimp my bike!

I want to get an exhaust; I’m looking at the Viper2. The Accutronix adapter for the intake, the D&M Spike Slotted Billet Air Cleaner and of course the Fuggin fuel controller.

This seems to be a fairly popular setup. I thought about a velocity stack, I like the look, but I’m not sure if it’s practical or a good idea.

The D&M spike is kinda pricey, but thanks to member x-tremephoto, he found them for a bit cheaper than most. Even still I can get a similar spike intake at half the cost on ebay. It’s clearly a knockoff, but I’m not sure I care. Has anyone bought one? Would I be disappointed if I bought it?

Lastly, I don’t want my bike to be obnoxiously loud and I don’t want to gimp it by doing an unnecessary mod (ie; air intake that I have to worry about when it’s raining). I do sometimes have a passenger, I hear that a loud ehaust ruins the ride for them… don’t know if that’s true or not.

What do you guys think?

She says its a nice sounding loud. if that makes since lol.. I'm not a mechanic by any means either and putting the exhaust fuel controller on are very easy to do. also have they stealth brake light assembly from Raw Design looks great too.

i plan on going with the S&S intake i think but that will be a winter purchase i think. And maybe by then something else i like better will come out who knows. I liked the mayhem exhaust but i wasn't sure if the S&S intake would fit and i wasn't completely sold on the Spiked intake.

Is the intake of a good quality? Are you satisfied with it? BTW, I bought the sissy bar already! As far as the intakes are concerned, there aren't that many out there that I like. The spike looks cool but I thought the velocity stack also looks pretty nice. Although, none of them have realy knocked my socks off.

I have the S&S air cleaner and the Cobra pipes on mine. Both easy installs.
I also have the Cobra fuel controller, again , easy. I like the setup. Pipes are not too loud unless I want them to be. They follow the lines of the bike, and cover that ugly swing arm, unlike most other pipes I've seen.

I thought about the cobras but I like the shorter pipes, although I agree about the swing arm it is ugly.

As far as the S&S, I thought that might be the best bet as far as an intake mod. Although I like the D&M spikes, I'm afraid they are going to be too restricitve. Does anyone have any information to support or disprove that?

Spring, that was my thoughts too. The Cobras cover up the swing arm. Good point.

I left the org air cleaner on. Did you have the bike dyno'ed with the Cobras and the S&S?

I picked up 4.1 hps with the Cobras, Powecommander V and orig. cleaner.

I have the Viper 2's, accutronix adaptor, D&M intake, and fuggin fuel controller on mine. It is loud, but not too loud. Had the woman on the back and she said it is not too loud for her.

That's the setup I'm going with, glad to hear the good news. Are you satisfied with the D&M? And is it a D&M or an ebay special? (not that there's anything wrong with that, cause I'm considering buying one)

I'm very satisfied with everything. The D&M looks sick and really works well (not an ebay special). You can hear it suck air in every time you crack the throttle.
