Good evening all,

New member here. Recently picked up a 2010 Honda Fury, after being away from motorcycles for a couple years.

Started riding back in 2010, mostly metric cruisers and sport bikes, then briefly had a Harley Nightster 1200 as my last bike.

Always had a fondness for Hondas, as I drive their cars almost exclusively.

I had just started riding when the Fury came out and remember telling myself “one day I’m gonna get one of those”. Well that day was last Friday.

Pretty happy with the Fury I picked up. 30K miles and completely stock, except for the cobra pipes. Don’t plan on any major mods, just gonna cruise and hopefully fall back in love with riding again.

A little about me: originally from Kansas. Moved to Dallas, TX about 10 years ago for work. I’m a regional controller for a waste transportation company. Single, no kids.

I guess I shall introduce a new member of the family. I know this is "Fury Forums" and posting other makes probably isn't allowed but this is my thread and I also don't give a shit about rules. After a 250 mile trip on the Fury, I decided that I needed to pickup a bagger, as the Fury is uncomfortable as hell on long trips and there was no sense in spending money to try to make the Fury a bagger. I bought a 2013 Victory Cross Country last weekend. Now the Fury will be primarily driven in town and the Victory will be for long trips out of DFW. So now I have a stable of two horses in the barn.

I’ve been struggling with the same issue…. I can ride the Fury all day but I just want a bagger…. It’s between the victory and the Kawasaki. I’m scared of the victory’s engine because I’ve heard some bad things and my neighbor who’s a top notch bike mechanic advised me to stay away which swings me to Kawasaki a little more but I like the look of the victory more. So I’ll wait and see what presents itself. There’s also an Aston Martin DB8 at my son’s dealership so I may just go that route…. I’m not sure how Grace will feel if a park another bike next to her in the garage! 🤣

Understandable. I was between a Kawasaki Vulcan Vaquero and the Victory. Ultimately the Victory won over, as I don't like the fixed fairing on the Vulcan. An Aston Martin does sound nice, good luck with the maintenance :ROFLMAO:

My concern with a Victory is getting parts. Polaris said they would supply parts for ten years and we are already about six years in. Resale value even in Oz is not good which is why they are so tempting on the used market. For me Kawasaki would be the winner as there are lots of Kawasaki dealers and there is no problem getting parts.

I'm still a Goldwing guy but due to Honda AU importing only the DCT version from 2022 on I have to look at a used one. Then there is the Kawasaki Voyager, of course Kawasaki AU had to stop importing the Voyager and Vaquero at the end of 2014 so that means I can only get a used one again.

The 2022 Voyager has a really sharp colour scheme and if I was in the US I could see myself buying one.

Yeah I was worried about the parts availability as well. Fortunately for me, I rarely own a motorcycle longer than a couple years, so chances are, when Victory stops making parts, the bike will be long gone. I looked at some Goldwings as well but they were out of my price range year wise to be able to pay cash so the Victory fit the bill nicely. I do like the Voyagers as well!

I was thinking of getting a Honda Goldwing, but the older I get the less I want to get caught in the rain somewhere on the trip. I bought a convertible instead.
Oh dear. You're not that old to switch to a car.......

I've ridden a Goldwing in heavy rain and you stay quite dry. A lightweight rain suit was all that I needed along with switching to some waterproof gloves and rain over boots. However it is a pain to pull over and get all the rain gear on.

The neighbours will get used to it. My neighbours got used to my family, my wife playing her full size grand piano, my daughter playing her drums and me playing my electric guitars. Sure I treated the music room but the neighbours do hear us.

We need a pic of that JAMSESSION
We have differing musical tastes so that makes for interesting discussions. My wife is a serious classical musician, my daughter is into classic rock and pop and I'm more of a blues based rock player or what is now called classic rock. I like jazz and baroque classical music as well but I love playing what my wife calls guitar music. Let me tell you a full size concert grand piano with the lid up is seriously loud, louder than I would turn my guitar amp up at home. Sometimes I wonder how much we piss the neighbours off but then I don't complain about the noisy kids playing in the back yard on one side and the sport bike with an aftermarket exhaust that sounds awful on the other side. I guess it's a wash. The important thing is that all of us stop making noise fairly early so that everyone gets to sleep in silence.

I'd have to get rid of a truck to get a Goldwing, I'm out of garage space.

Old-saying I once heard, "Don't get your meat where you get your bread." (for you youngsters that means don't bork your co-workers)
Same goes with neighbors.
oh, wait, you meant.....never mind... :whistle2:

“This guy called up his lawyer to tell him he was filing for divorce, and the lawyer inquired as to the grounds for the suit. ‘I’ve got grounds, all right,’ sputtered the irate husband. ‘Can you believe my wife told me I’m a lousy lover?’
‘That’s why you’re suing?’ pursued his lawyer.
‘Of course not. I’m suing because she knows the difference.’”

Seems like a fair trade or with no wife just extend the garage. Problem solved. ;)

I have a wife and she is fine with me building another garage in the back yard for my workshop, she is also fine with me having more bikes and buying any tools I want or need. That said I was also fine with her buying a full size concert grand piano. Some relationships do work.....although not many I admit.
