Article indicates Royal Enfield v-twin of mid-20s vintage, best speed would have been on order of 75 mph; they wouldn't do the "tonne" (100 mph). 'Course, you gotta understand, 75 mph on English roads of that period would be like 200-250 mph on our modern hiways! T.E. Lawrence (Larry of the Dunes) found out the hard way; he died on his Brough Superior while bombing down an English backroad.LOL what's the top speed on that monster.![]()
