hey guy i just stumbled upon this site looking at reviews and what not know i will get answers here. I was in a honda dealership yesterday picking up some parts for my cousins four wheeler and over in the corner set a fury and neeless to say I WANT ONE have a couple concerns with it though i currently ride a 650 yamaha vstar but i have rode harleys hondas rice rockets other big bikes i am concerned with what kind of power im looking at here and dont know if i will be happy with the power i know its more than im used to but its not a 100 inch rev tech so the question is will it pull you back in the seat pretty good just for cruising and run pretty good to 100 and the second question is how does it sound with a set of straights on it does it have the deap throaty lope of and roar that can compare to a harley or that patened chopper sound. thanks for any advice and input in advance its an eye catching bike and i really want one.

Welcome to the Forum Stihl.

I have just got a Fury (3 weeks ago) and I reckon it is the best bike I have ever ridden period. My other bike is a custom chopper based on an Ultima 127 Cu In V-twin so I think I am qualified to speak.

The Honda has plenty of power, it is not as powerful and my other bike 1312cc against 2065cc but it is faultless power, super smooth and plenty of low down torque. Fantastic engine.

I like the sound of the stock exhaust (Aussie Version), it got that V-Twin rumble without breaking your ear drums. Personally I don't like loud straight through pipes but if that's your thing then you won't be disappointed with a set on the Fury. I heard a set at the dealer and it will make the Harley boys take notice.

The thing about this bike that will blow you away is that it handles so well, even with two up. It blows my home built chopper away in the corners and it is way way more comfortable. Like I said the best bike I have ever had.

I'm sure the other guys can fill you in even more.

While I have baffles in my pipes, the Honda V-twin will not have the lope like a HD. The Honda seems to have this potato lope sound to it, nothing like a HD V-twin..
thanks guys input has been appreciated that thing sounds awesome i like loud as it can get i live in central mississippi out in the country if it aint loud round here you get looked at funny but i been looking to upgrade for a while but dont care to much for the big cruisers and HD cost so much to keep up and aint got as much power as i would expect for the price tag i just love the way these bikes look guess i got to break down and buy one been lurking the site all night learned a lot and just got to find one at a dealership now and see if i can get the price right on it and get a decent trade for my old bike or ill just keep it and sell it or just keep it aint gone give it away.
..But one and then come back..Its not a harley..u want a harley buy one..

I sometimes see a dealer in MISS who auctions on eBay. Here is an Arkansas dealer. It may be too far but will give you leverage at your nearest dealer. Honda : eBay Motors (item 270525113914 end time Feb-23-10 07:46:05 PST)

Some dealers will just say fine buy it off ebay then, Our one dealer did on the bike i was looking at before the fury and i hit another local dealer, ended up getting a fury cheaper than a 2007 vtx1800f2 leftover at the original dealer i was going to. Even told the guy at the dealer "fine cost on ebay is 8700OTD, add 500 for freighing it here, add 200 for a plane ticket, and add stay within a couple hundred and the bike is sold" they wouldnt go for it when if a dealer is capible of selling at that price they are obviously making some $ on it
harleys cannot be copied on sound buy hey the fury clips i have listened to they sound good rather have 16 in a kick [email protected]@ bike than 25 in a run of the mill harley any day... wish that dealership in russleville was a tad closer its 400 miles from my house to there. it will be august or september before my finacial situation gets better where i can buy one but i am counting down the days now.. appreciate all the input guys thanks.

I was in a harley dealership the other day with my brother. they fired up a rocker c with vance and hines pipes and i thought it sounded exactly like my fury with the mayhems. the harley did not have that slow lopey sound i was expecting. I'm wondering if that sound is a thing of the past now that they've switched to fuel injection. it was pretty easy to adjust the air screw on the carbs before and get that sound by making it idle slower. I'm thinking that can't be done anymore... Am I correct?

I rode up to the Harley dealer with my dad the other day (he rides an electraglide) and the guy at the dealer commented on my Fury as we were walking up to my Dad's bike. He actually thought it was pretty cool. When I fired it up for him, his words were... "Sounds just like a V-Rod."
Hey Stihl,

There are a few of us Mississippians that own them....you'll probably get the best deal at Brookhaven Honda http://www.brookhavenhonda.com...I got mine there and so did another member here.

what pipes do you have mobe? my mayhems are actually louder than my friends vrod with stock exhaust. Idle speed is the same though.

I think we are in an era when Honda has made history by possibly breaking down the old barrier between motorcycle manufactures. Hopefully this motorcycle "racism" is starting to fade away. Of course this is only the beginning of the long journey ahead of us. There are always gonna' be the die hards who will never surrender to the fact that almost any bike can be cool. If Harley would've made something that looks as good as the Fury before Honda made this bike, maybe I'd be riding an HD instead of a Honda.

I agree with you there. My brother and I have always been die hard sportbike guys. I now have a sportbike and a Fury. After I had a bad wreck on my sportbike a few years back, my brother sold his bike and quit riding. I'm happy to say that after he saw me not just get back on, but have 2 bikes, he has decided to get another bike. He doesn't want another sportbike and doesn't like the Fury. It's too stretched out for him. He fell in love with the Harley Rocker C and will be getting one soon. He always hated Harleys when he rode sportbikes, but now that he's not getting a sportbike, he doesn't want anything other than a Harley. I say who cares? As long as he's on 2 wheels and I've got another person to ride with, I don't care what he's riding. I just hope it holds up for him and he never regrets his purchase.

That's my kind of thinking!!!! :D It really doesn't matter as we only go through this life once....might as well go through a part on 2 Wheels!
ryguy00, do you have any pics on here of your Mayhems? Do you still like them?

This is the only pic I have so far. This was before I painted the side covers and had to have the pipes rechromed. I just got the pipes back today but since there's no heat in the garage, it may be a couple days before I venture out there to do any work. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE them! IMO these are the ONLY pipes that look right on the fury. Nothing else follows the lines of the bike the way these do. They sound great too. But, they do get hot and you have to be careful.

I have black Hard Krome Strippers on it now. When the dude at Harley heard it, it was stock. I guess it was longer ago than the other day. Where does the time go.
I am also from the sport bike gen and that's all I had rode since 1994. When I sat on the rocker C ( my 1st choice this summer) the engine was in the side of my left leg and I had to keep that one on my tippy toe. I sat on the fury 2nd and instantly loved it. Honda did one heck of a job period :)

I have a heck of a rumble on mine but I am not running baffles so its GOOD and loud.
appreciate it woodenhorse i checked them out earlier today and they had an awesome price on theirs... i will own one this summer got to get out from under one of my payments first just doing some planning ahead
