Well, the deal went through. The dealership offered me just enough for trade on my ninja and my fury. I brought home my new thunder mountain chopper today. I loved it! The fury was an amazing bike and thunder mountain made a bike that filled all of the (admittedly small) voids that the fury just didn't have. I'm very happy with my choice but I will still miss the fury. I AM still welcome here right? Also, If anyone is interested in colorite paint for the BLUE fury, let me know. I have some left over base, topcoat, and clear that I'll send you really cheap. I think there is enough left to do a set of side covers or something similar in size. If interested, PM me and we can work out a deal. I'm thinking $40 plus shipping for all of it together.

Wow I bet that cost ALOT!

A Harley chopper really!
Your must have paid a small fortune for that one BUT YOU HAVE A KILLER BIKE BRO!!

Watched the You tube on Thunder Mountain, and they are top notch esp since they POWDER COAT FRAMES PRIOR TO ASSEMBLY PAINT ON EVERY SURFACE AND BAKED! More money with all the SUB CONTRACTORS/VENDORS. And the maticulous nature they have with parts and binning is way ahead of the curve BUT worth it. I hope they give a GREAT WARRANTY on the stuff they do.

I worked at a Manufacturer who had a Powder Coating oven that would hold maybe 3-4 CARS at ONCE the oven readhes 500 degrees F. That powder coat really protects all metal surfaces better than any regular paint, That powder is attached to every inch of surface by electrolysis as long as its even its perfect!!!

My only concern with the Mountain, LOL is the flop, how does she turn???

Love the over all bad ass look of your BIKE!

Congrats!

thanks man. actually it only cost me 5k. i talked the dealer WAY down. I got em to come down to 16k and then traded in my fury and my ninja (both of which i got for free). She rides a lot better than I expected to be honest. I don't notice any flop whatsoever from the front end. However, I can DEFINITELY tell a difference from the 240 rear tire. It handles great but just isn't quite as flickable as the fury was with the narrower tire. For normal riding on the street, you'd never know the difference. The ONLY way I can tell is when "slaloming or weaving" the dotted yellow lines on the road. It still manages well, just takes a little more effort. If you are considering a wider rear tire and can afford it, based on what I've felt, I'd say go for it. You won't lose any handling that you'd notice.
BTW: thanks for the info on the powdercoating. That was cool to read

ryguy00,

How is the ride compared to the Fury? Does it ride pretty smooth; handle well? Also, what size engine? ....and yes, more pics please.
Compared to the fury, the ride is VERY similar. It shifts just a little smoother than the fury, which surprised me because my brothers rocker c sounds like a baseball bat hitting a trash can when it shifts. The fury hit false neutrals a LOT for me. I've never heard any other complaints tho so maybe it was just me or my fury. It handles great, no "flop" in the front end. But can tell a small difference in flickability due to the wider rear tire. WAY stronger brakes up front on this bike. The engine is from the sportster 1200 but has be slightly tuned to put out 83 hp and close to that in torque. That makes a huge difference! I twist the throttle the same as the fury and have to back off because it's way too much now lol. However, it is a rubber mounted engine which turns the bike in to a 2 wheeled giant vibrator at low rpm's My girlfriend will love it :D It all smooths out when you're rolling and is super smooth at around 70mph. No tach so I don't know what the rpms are at that point but I'd say it's at your normal cruising speeds that it's the smoothest. (anytime between taking off or slowing down) It has a supertrap exhaust and screamin eagle intake from the factory and it sounds amazing. Its a sound that the fury could never even begin to come close to (and I had the fuggin mayhems on my fury too)
