Son of a f#([email protected] b*^%h!!!!!

Rode my bike to work today, went out at lunch to eat some chinese and swing by the Honda shop to check on warranty for the breather tube, came back to work and pulled up to my parking spot and there was oil spot on the pavement about the size of a silver dollar...:mad: What's that all about!!! I know it came from my bike as no car could pull up in that spot near the fence.. Haven't had time to look up underneath yet. Anyone else have any leak problems??? This is a Honda for Christ's sakes....not an HD........should be no leak.....:mad:

On a side note, the dealer had had 3 furys sit in the showroom all winter with no sales....now, as soon as the weather got nice, all 3 are sold. I haven't seen any of them on the road yet though.

Not trying to insult you, but are you sure it was an actual oil drip? The only reason I ask, is because I thought my bike had developed a leak as well, but the consistency was too thin to be oil, and when I checked under my bike, all I could find was a tube near where the "leak" was. I just assumed it was some kind of a vent tube for something. Funny though, it doesn't happen in my garage. I only see it at work.

Steve, not easily insulted my friend!:) So always speak your mind! One thing I appreciate is honesty and candidness....

Hopefully that will be all it is.....it wasn't gas, it wasn't thick, but it was oily...i ran my finger over it and dang near shoved it up my nose trying to smell it  (uhhh, we won't get int to that :p) Didn't have a strong smell, but definitely oily......I'm not far from the gulf coast....could it be bp? jk...

I won't get home until after dark tonight so will probably have to check it out tomorrow after work...I park in a carport that has gravel floor so it's hard to see if any regular oil leak....it is hotter today (around 90) so maybe it is some breather stuff...???....

Yep, that sounds like the same thing that is coming out of my bike from time to time. Is it on the right side of the bike, near the rear of the frame? That's where mine is. I ran my hand under there to find a fresh oil drip, but all I could feel is that tube. I have a smooth concrete floor in my garage, so I would see it if it leaked in there. The only thing I can think of is it's some kind of vent tube and when the black asphalt of the parking lot heats up it allows some dripage from that tube. What the hell is that tube for?

I have about 2500 miles on my bike and have never noticed anything. I don’t think that fan is going to come unless you’re stuck in traffic on a hot day. Mine has never been on that I know of.

Thanks for your take Richard....I have about the same mileage. I guess I'll hve to park on the smooth concrete side of my carport and let the engine cool and run my finger over everything like Steve did. I'm gonna be watching my fan and see if I can ever catch it on...proabaly only comes on while idling for an extended period, which I don't do because the pipes would definitely blue as a result of that.....guess I need to break down and check my oil and coolant levels, although that spot wouldn't indicate any severe leakage....

Fan, schman.....that has nothing to do with the shit coming out of the bottom of the bike. My fan was coming on last fall when I first bought the bike. Richard can't hear his fan because he has no damn baffles in his pipes. :D I can barely hear mine when it comes on. I think it came on just yesterday.

It might have something to do with it...maybe if the engine got hotter than usual, more stuff might spew out the old tube!!!:D

I have never seen my fan running and I have intentionally looked to see if it was on hot days. I asked the shop about it and they said it very seldom comes on. How’s your coolant level?

It's full of coolant. My fan doesn't come on all the time, but last year when it was hot, it came on a few times like at a stop light, or when I got home and the engine was off, but the key was still on so it just happened to be hot enough to kick on the fan. Yesterday was pretty warm here and I was slowly cruising around town looking for someone and when I stopped I noticed the fan came on.
