I have both... you can never have to many helmets. Although I tend to buy helmets at a faster rate then most... same goes for my wifes lid(s) ;)

Any recommendations on where to get a great deal on a helmet?
Theirs places online, but I recommend at least going to a shop and try on a lot different ones. Find one that fits right for you. Some places offer deals you won't see online as to MAP. I've found Shoei's at places cheaper than online.

My experience riding on the freeway and the career that I pursue have me committed to a full face helmet! Out of all the bike accidents that I have been to, almost all the ones where people wear wearing yarmulkas while riding had significant head injuries. I have no idea what alot of there eventual outcomes were but the visuals are pretty sobering.

I think those flip up are pretty sweet. I actually tried the HJC one and it fit nice and had the drop down sun visor inside the helmet shell. I ended up with flat black AGV. Looks good with the Matte Silver!

It's a chopper! I think it's just wrong to use a full-face helmet. How many sport bike riders do you see with a bucket. It's just as odd.
I make my living with my mind. It paid for the Fury. I'm not going to put the breadwinner at risk for the sake of fashion ! My other hobbies involve the fully articulated use of all my limbs, I get great enjoyment from them. so, for the same reason, that I don't want to put something that I value at unnecessary risk, I'm not going to ride around in only a leather vest and jeans because that's what the 'image' says that you have to do...

At times I do have to wonder at how something so 'individualistic' as recreational motorcycle riding has such 'unspoken' demands of conformity.

How we gear up is OUR choice to make, not that of some unidentifiable fashion police.

Let the those who ride decide ! or something like that :)
