I am really diggin' the RAW Designs Stealth Run/Turn/Brake Light setup.

However, I am very concerned about the turn signal being the same color as the running lights (red), especially on sunny days; we have a lot of sunny days here in FL, as well as a lot of old people wearing those nasty glaucoma sunglasses:

I'd much prefer either a dual-LED setup that changes the turn signal portion to use the amber color of the red/amber dual-color LED. Otherwise, a second clear or smoke lens row below the running/brake light row that is dedicated amber for the turn signals. I've got an email into RAW Designs (metricfats) to see if this change in design is viable.

But, I'm looking for feedback from those who have this system already on their Fury. Write back with your thoughts regarding the brightness of these lights during the day (on a very sunny day), etc.

Thanks!

Hey there, I live in Tampa and have the Raw front and back. In my opinion the are way brighter than the stock and wouldnt worry about any distinction. shoot me a PM if you ever want to check em out since we are neighbors.

thx

glaucoma sunglasses:, do those block out red? Lots of blue hairs where i live also, so would be good to know.
Based on the way people wearing those goggles drive around here, I'd say they block out everything :p

These are way brighter then stock. It actually hurts sometimes to look straight at them from up close. I don't think you'll have any more of a problem than you do with your stock setup. And it looks a million times better!

Just think of the movie Star Wars... see how bright the lightsabers are... well, these are little mini lightsabers and when they blink, look like little mini blinking lightlabers...

They are pretty bright actually :D

Bill from Raw Design offered me to built a version with amber signals, so perhaps he will do the same for you.

I would sent him an e-mail..

How do you need it... a three way light with amber on the sides and red in the middle for brakes or are you talking about making the whole thing amber?

I would like the LEDs to be 2-color LEDs - they have three leads: one common ground, one to activate red, one to activate amber. While in running light mode, they're all red using 1/2 voltage. When you put on your signal, the red activation for half the lights are disabled and the amber lead is triggered in blink mode. And, when the brake is applied, the red LEDs are given a full voltage (those that are not being used for turn signal, if applicable).

Another way is to have the running and brake lights be in one tube and amber LEDs to be in another tube must below. It's a little less logic for the circuit. And, it should still be a bit stealthy as compared to this monster assembly we got from the factory.

Like this?

Turns and Brake Flexible array - Radiantz LED Lighting - Motorcycle LED light

or like this?

Integratorz Standard - Radiantz LED Lighting - Motorcycle LED light

Contact Radiantz and they should be able to help you out with your request, RAW get's his lights from these guys... measure out the back length of how long you want them to be... Get back with us as others are probably interested...

Damn close. But, I'd like the full kit for a clean replacement from MetricFats just like this ...

... with the outer (left/right) to be yellow LEDs, the middle LEDs to be red, and the whole thing to be stealth smoked tube.

I am doing the RSS mod of the stealth but will only do the red brake. A buddy of mine has all red with the blinker option with the back off thingy. When he has his signal on with the brake you cant really see the turn signal. I bought billit bullet signals from Drag specialties and will make a bracket under the stealth bracket to mount them. I think that should look pretty good. I plan to paint them black and have the back off thingy. I did think about doing separate led's with amber for the signals but felt it would get lost when I hit my brakes.
Good luck with yours.

Here's what I'd love to have:
* Full lower red on Run
* Full brighter red on Brake
* 1/4 Segment Yellow on Turn Right
* 1/4 Segment Yellow on Turn Left

My sad attempt in PhotoShop to animate this:

That's my next step. I had to get this animation just right (re-arrange Alan and you can spell "anal") so I could show them them rather than describe it.

Gonna call in an hour or so. Off to an errand now. I'll keep all y'all (that's the plural of y'all) posted with what I find out from them. :D

p.s.: I'm hoping this all can be housed in the smoke-colored tubing for stealthiness.

my crappy opinion: i'm liking the mod you're considering but sticking to the 'legal' colors required in Fla.
I have no intention of having the local badges stop me because my lights are the wrong color. Quite a few states use that tactic as a standard 'gotcha', btw.

Not sure if you're seeing different colors or what, but my intentions are to depict red for brake and running lights, yellow/amber for turn signals. Nothing out of the ordinary there.

A friend of mine just gave me a great idea:
1. Get the stealth run/brake/turn lights from MetricFats,
2. Get another row of red from Radiantz
3. Mount the Radiantz red row on rear of the seat, and
4. Tie it into the brake light only.

This will give me a "third brake light" like cars have.

Kickin' this idea around now. Don't want to sissify my bike. But, I don't want a bumper in my ass, either.

No offense, but it seems that you're being a little paranoid on getting hit, and if you're trying to keep from getting hit I don't think I would go with smaller lights, we all know that Florida is full of older people and the smaller you have your lights the more it's going to make it easier for them to not see you. This is not to try and persuade you either way, I'm just saying this because you seem worried about being hit.
