Anybody know if there is any detriment to doing the removal before putting on aftermarket pipes?
If you have state inspection for emissions in order to license ur ride, it probably will not pass. Pair valve and selenoid redirect fresh air from the intake to the exhaust to dilute the nasty gasses. Sorta kinds like fanning ur @ss after a good fart.

I do have the inspections every 2 years. So I used carburetor vacuum caps and closed off the valves and the hose slips on over them. All the plumbing in place.

Anyone order the plates recently?
They take awhile to get and they are not good at communication but if you got your payment confirmation, you will eventually get them. They have been around awhile and no one has never NOT got them.

Cheers

Blocking the air feed to the pair valve works the same as the plates .
I have a S & S and plugged the hole with a rubber plug and silicone sealant.
Did any condensation build up? This thread goes back 7 years and it was noted that condensation build-up was an issue if you only plugged the air feed hose at the filter. I would rather just block the hose than go through the hassle of installing the block off plates if there's no ill effects to doing that.

I received my set of pair block off plates. Does anyone have the PDF instructions for installation? The instructions are at the beginning of the thread, but the pics are no longer showing up. I probably don't need pictures, but always good to have the full set of instructions. Thanks all. 2011 Honda Fury

Got up early today to remove my Pair Valve and do the install of my new polished stainless plates. Much to my surprise, the PO had already removed the plumbing and installed aluminum plates. The job just got easier! I replaced those plates with the new stainless ones . Discovered that the PO had used a rubber cap to block off the air box port. It had dried up and was badly degraded to the point it was definitely not doing it's job anymore. Can't believe it hadn't just fallen off. Replaced with the rubber plug sent with the plates. While it was all torn apart I tore it down some more and checked cylinder valves. One minor adjustment and buttoned it up. Good to go for awhile. ?

I ended up removing the little rubber plug on my airbox after getting rid of the pair valves.
With good quality gas, my 660 idle is great.

Does vtx-parts.com still exist? I ordered some block off plates from them last week and haven?t heard from them. No confirmation, no shipping info, etc.
