Nah nah, at 54 seconds he says it has six speeds...he knows...LOL

Apparently he only drove "several Furys" from the storage area to the showroom because I scraped the stock pegs on every turn that wasn't taken snail slow.

The weather lady on TV this morning predicted chance of summer monsoon rain in local mountains...so I aired up and jumped onto the mighty Fury !

It was warm in Alpine as I headed east to higher and cooler elevations !

WAY too hot for the desert...packing heat , no water.

Was looking forward to some cool sprinkles on my bare arms.

The rain was elusive, but it was a great last minute ride anyway.

Peter Fonda died last week.

From the cult classic movie "Easy Rider".

A must see movie if you are owner of a chopper or maybe even a Fury.

This movie inspired a buddy and I in high school to buy identical bikes to cruise California .

We were only 16, we strapped sleeping bags to the back of our bikes.

We rode from San Diego to Yosemite National Park. "Easy Riders".

On Suzuki TS-250 Savages. 2 strokes !!

Wohwa...

My comment about the good days was when I was 16 (when gas was 38 cents gallon) and had the freedom of riding my motorcycle every where.

Maybe you need to see the movie, don't focus on the drug use. The movie was a breakout of the times and won many awards.

Even rednecks like the movie, after all they violently killed the 3 stars in the movie.

Here is a link to another good movie of the time 1971 "On Any Sunday". I just found the complete movie here on YouTube. Not sure how long it's going to be available.

Be sure and bring it to the beginning so you don't miss the introduction.

Rolled through border checkpoint today on Old HWY 8 near Pine Valley.

For the 1st time ever agent made me come to a complete stop and open up my faceshield.

" That's a Honda Fury right ? ", he asked.

"Hey yes, you know your bikes ! " I replied.

"Please continue and be safe ! "

Pretty cool...

Sign has no restrictions on long wheel based choppers....I'm going for it !

Don't worry, I'm washing the bike when I get home tonight.

A sudden summer monsoon style cloud burst in distance. Looks like Niagara Falls. Looking North over Lake Henshaw. Weather events like this are fairly common in mountains of San Diego County during summers.

Here is a picture of my Fury stuck in a sudden monsoon style downpour on Alpine Blvd (summer 2017).

I washed and detailed her in the morning and drove her to the library to air dry and to pick up some reading material.

I actually left my house wearing a short sleeve t-shirt with sunny warm sky and no clouds overhead.

20 minutes later....

It poured for about 1 hour and it took another 45 minutes before flood waters subsided.

A storm cell stalled over Alpine.
There was serious property damage throughout the town of Alpine.

I'm in San Diego - that's a crazy thing to happen here!
