IN the process of removing them, just wondered if anyone else has and if so, what difference in programing they had to do. I just installed my cobra's and Fi200R and the bike stinks of fuel. I went with the factory default but it seems that i need to do some tweaking. Anyone else have their bike run rich after installling a programmer?

Anyhow, i'll post up some results without the baffles.

J.A.T.O....why are you removing the baffles? Is it to get a better rumble/sound? I thought my Cobra swepts sounded excellent today when I put them on..just curious on your reasoning....good luck...
I thought it would be an easy removal, just an experiment to see how it sounded. After messing with it for a few minutes i decided it was not worth the fight. Those suckers are in there!

Yeah i agree they sound great as is i just thought that if its as easy as removing one screw why not.

I’m supposed to get my bike back from the shop today with the cobra’s. Can’t wait.:) I have been told that the fuel commander was all ready set up and just needed to be plugged in? If that is not the case on all of them, then I am glad I let the dealer install them, that way they can do the tweaking.

I was thinking the same thing on the baffles. Let us know how it sounds and so forth if anyone does it.

i took the baffle section completey out of my stock pipes , i do welding and fab work but if you dont have the tools or skills , take the stock muffler unit to a muffler shop and have them cut it off behind the cat section and weld in 2 2.5 inch sections of pipe and put the end back on , sounds really good considering what it cost me , im trying to hold out for the Fuggin Fab pipes to be perfected and scope out the photos of them completed , but for now mine has a pretty good rumble, no noticable power changes either , does seems to be a touch cold natured tho

How much louder are they and did it change the sound or just make it louder? Any backfiring? Would I need to put my bike back on a dyno again if I removed the baffels? Post a you tube if you can so we can hear them.

Wow! does removing the baffels add power. Those are as good or better Dyno results than I got after adding the S&S Air Filter, Cobra Swept (with baffels in), and the Power Commander installed. That makes me want to see what I could get with the baffels out. Does the sound change with them out or is it the same sound just louder?

So, do you need earplugs with the baffles out?

Those of you that removed the baffles from your cobras, do you have a fuel controller installed? Will it hurt the engine if you dont have one..

answer a question hmm...

Ok here it is With them removed seasoned harley guys can not tell the diff from a fury or a HD as far as sound. I must admit it took me a little getting usto but... It was worth it! My best friend is a 15 year certified Honda Tec who was my motocross mechanic has told me that if you only change the pipes and take the baffels out you DO NOT NEED to change anything else Hondas computer will adjust for the changes due to it not being that dramatic. Next back fire..... it does back fire if and only if you ride like I do and how is that you may ask well lets just say from da yone wit hany bike I have ever owned I ride them like I will ride them for as long as I have them. WFO "wide full open" if you are aggressive in your down shifting as I am you will hear a bit of back fireing but again my mechanic has told me not to worry about it. when it comes to bikes I can trust him with my life as I did years ago. my only complaint is that dam rev limiter! so there are the questions answered the best I can. off topic now has anyone been pulled over obaying the laws " for once" just so the trooper can look at the FURY and ask you questions? Happened today good thing I had no plans or timetable just putting miles on. Keep the rubber down!

how do you get them out, I know there is a screw on the side of the pipes but how do you actually pull them out?
