Oh boy....here we go!
All I can tell you is, I love my Cobra swepts. Don't know if they're better or worse than any other exhaust because they are the only one's I've ever heard on a Fury.
Oh, you have that model on your bike..huh
Mine will run me 450 and about 5 hrs worth of work after all is said and done with Powercommander. I like the cobras alot but its just that everyone (for the most part) has themIt all comes down to the style that catches your eye. I personally like a swept look. After hearing the pipes that Tony and RSS have on their bikes (Samsons) I was leaning to those big time. The only reason why I didnt buy them is because the Cobra Swepts cover the rear swingarm a little more and I dont like seeing it at all, It would have bothered me seeing it all the time, also my dealer sold me the pipes and FC for 798 and saved me a lot of QUAN.You cant go wrong with either one.
What do you mean burn your leg on it? Never have I had that happen yet...???I like the look of the Samson's better than the cobras however don't underestimate the times you might burn you leg on them and for that reason I went with the cobras until another exhaust choice and style comes along.
Which is part of the reason i tell people buying new to break the bike in and on down time shop exhaust options then buy exhaust. its cheaper and easy to install, plus leaves the bike stock for helping control breakin better and allows you to sort through the optionsI like the deep sound of my Cobras but in hindsight wish i would have bought the Sampson Hell Raisers instead. The look is very similar between the two but the Sampsons are alot louder. I say if you want a deep throaty (ok no remarks here) quiet pipe go with the Cobras. If you want a louder pipe go with the Sampson Hell Raisers.
Yea... don't think you were posting back in Sept. or Oct. though for Trip to catch that one.... lolWhich is part of the reason i tell people buying new to break the bike in and on down time shop exhaust options then buy exhaust. its cheaper and easy to install, plus leaves the bike stock for helping control breakin better and allows you to sort through the options
Nope but i say that about almost anything. My s10 was cheaper to buy, drop the way i wanted, do my own power accessories routed so my door pannels just have the open handle and lock, body kit the way i wanted and carpet then just buying the Extreme. I feel that way about alot of things DIY gives you soo many more options and usually ends up cheaper.Yea... don't think you were posting back in Sept. or Oct. though for Trip to catch that one.... lol![]()
I guess I am mistaken on the the heat shields. I've got a friend who has the Sampson's on his big and he is forever burning the shit out of his leg but now that you mention the heat shields I'm almost positive he doesn't have any heat shields on his and I 'm now wondering why. Do the heat shields come standard with them or do you have to purchase them separate and if so how much are they? I like the Sampson's better than the cobras but I have always steered away from them for this reason but now I think I'll have to take another look at them for choice. What do you mean burn your leg on it?
