Does anyone have these? I like the looks and sound. My only concern is will I be able to access the plastic "chrome" cover to adjust the "ride" on the adjustable shock absorber? I spoke with Samson today and they weren't sure on the question.

Thanks in advance.

Read sig... Look at my pics in the gallery... You can access the cover, it just doesn't slide off as it use to, you literally have to "slide" it out, instead of popping it out... Don't bother with the guys at Samson, I tried to tell them that the holes cut for the support bracket was cut wrong and he didn't quite understand... Make sure you have a Uni-bit handy or you're going to spend some hours like me installing, other than that... they sound great, most of the guys that went to the Ventura Chopper fest liked the way that they sounded... along with me of course, oh... and those damn baffles are hard as heck to take out... so hard, I just left them in there... lol

Tony;

On the site, I saw the "Cannons", the "Ripsaws", and the "Slashers"; I didn't see the "Hell Raisers". What do they look like? Did they stop offering them?

Cheers

If you go to their main page (samsonusa.com), select Honda and VT1300CX Fury 10-10 They are right below the baffle.
They look like the Cobra Swepts.

Cept they cover up the swing arm a little less than the Cobra Swept's do IMO, also they are further away from the passenger pegs, was thinking about my lady as well when I bought them... that's why I picked them, they go with the flow of the bike better and when I sit on them, it covers up the swing arm better... they sound great too!

Here's another website where you can see them side by side as well...

Me: "How the heck do you get out the old baffles???? I pulled with all my might, but couldn't get it out...."

btw, just got this from Samson:

"we use a slide hammer at times to jolt the old baffles out. make sure it is well lubed.
thank you,
JR

Redspawn and/or Tony:

Can you verify that your Samson's came with O2 bungs welded in, and if so, how far out from the exhaust port are the bungs located?

Perhaps an explanation/justification for my original question is in order. If you had O2 bungs welded in, about 1-to-2 inches from the exhaust port/s, and an adjustable fuel-controller, and one of these:

RSR Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge

you'd have no need for any dyno runs/testing. For about the cost of a dyno run or two, you can optimize, very accurately, your fuel mix for all points and modes in the powerband. When you're through tuning, you just un-clamp it, plug your O2 bungs, and put it on the shelf 'til the next time you make a change to your exhaust or intake system (not very often, I suspect).

Huh... That would be pretty cool to have, but as Tony said, there is not o2 bung on it, went out during my break and looked at the pipes I have as well and didn't see it. Think they may have copied some wordage over from another item? Don't know, if you call the Metric Thunder guys though, they'll answer your questions... There's only like 3 of them in their office there, so it wouldn't be too hard for them to figure out what they did if any of them is admin on the site.

Sampson exhaust Warlord

Love the pipes. They make the bike sound as good as it looks. I agree on the mounting braket. I had to machine the holes a bit inorder to install the pipes on the braket. All and all the pipes are great. Sound alot better then cobra's tinney sound.

Tazman:
I took it to the next level and welded a piece to their bracket to reach the second hole on the bike exhaust mount.
I emailed them mutt's to take the mod into consideration, I guess they didn't...

When you remove the baffles, the cobra's sound AWESOME - Everyone asks what kind of bike is it, is it a harley, and when i tell them its a honda, they say bullshit...

Okay, we all have our own tastes in the long run... the Samson's sound great even with the baffle in (deeper, resonant kind of sound), but it's about how we feel about the look and sound of the overall pipes that matters in the long run, not who makes it.
