i was thinking about this same thing.. getting my seat recovered ... there is a shop near me that does custom upolstery .. was thinging id ride over some time and start asking questions ..
Good deal. Let me know what he charges and what his work is like. If you want to do ostrich, I have some. I'll give you enough to do your seat if you can take mine and handle the details with him.

Has anyone ever had a motorcycle seat covered with stingray Hyde? I'm curious about how it wears because I'm thinking about a new mod. I really like the look of the polished skins but haven't ever seen a bike seat.
Bikes2envy.com (AL) This guy is in Canal Winchester Ohio, (close to Columbus.) Check out his site. I don't how far that is from you, but his seats are pretty nice. I had my chrome work done there this winter, AWESOME!!!! Course he sends it somewhere LOL

I been friends with Al for a number of years and he is within driving distance. I use him for most of my chrome. He does do good seat work, but I really am looking for someone that has done stingray though. I've spoken to a few upholsterers and they say it's a completely different, difficult skin to work with.

ok i talked with the owner , i saw ( hands on ) examples of his work .. it looks as good as a factory seat.
yes we can supply our own materials .. for 1 seat he claims the turn around time is 3 days .. yes he can pipe the seams ( but i didnt see any seams that were piped while i was there ) ..
i asked about stingray , he says its harder to work with and the quality of the skin makes all the difference
and that he has worked with it ( again no samples of a stingray job )
and he uses high density foam ( automotive quality ) if needed and alot of thread colors ( i saw and put hands on the foam ) and saw many spools of thread ( lots of colors )
i took a pic of a leather car seat and upclose of the seams and a bike seat close in shape to a fury ..
