I think that one mounts to the inside of the final, replaces the dust ring and mounts in there, you need to remove the tire/wheel to install it. I think you are looking for this http://http://www.customfuryparts.com/
Yes, Thank you Clueless! Can you give a product review on it? Price? I've called the number listed without an answer.

That was a prototype done by Joe Gore of the customfury website; I'm not sure he ever got that one into production. I don't think he's actually marketing that one yet, although he might be. If you can't get him at the number on the website; leave him an email, he's quick on answering emails. For a better look at what he currently has in production go here:

Custom VTX Parts Products Page

He says the vtx/fury holders are identical. Although $305 seems pricey at first, it isn't. When you factor in the separate cost of a chrome billet dust ring which runs around $150-$170 alone, then add in the billet plate holder, it's more than competitive. I really like his stuff; made arrangements to get his first chrome "F" for fury carved on sideplate holder when it comes back from chrome this week. He seems to do low-volume, high-quality stuff, as best I can tell from looking at his site and talked several times with him now.

Thank you for your input and additional info. Your right, the price for a plate holder is questionable, but more than that it seems to be more of a case of over-engineering to me ( redesigning the dust ring and having to remove the rear tire). But I'll keep trying to get get in contact with him.

Well, I really like the dust ring mount; replaces a piece of plastic crap which are legion on the fury lol, gives you a great looking billet dustring and an extremely well-done plate holder, but that's all pretty much aesthetics and personal taste.

But if you don't like the dust-ring part of it all, then Troy's side-mount holder at Accutronix is imho far and away the most beautifully made; the sculpted billet mount he's designed coming off the back of the swingarm as so good looking (again just imho :) that it crosses from just being a well-made part to being artistic.

Raw's mount for me is a little less aesthetically pleasing but is a great looking mount still *and* can rotate vertical/horizontal which could be a big plus in some states. Plus from pics I've seen Raw's mount is bright as hell and light's up the whole rear wheel looks pretty cool at night.

Shayne's stuff seems like the least engineered of them all but is dramatically cheaper and still very well done, and he'll carve the mount with designs you like. The klingon design one guy had him do was pretty cool (no, I'm not a trekkie, thank you. Although be honest who amongst us wouldn't like a couple hours in the interstellar sandbox with seven of nine lol :)?

OK Stonewheel, now your going to make me explan what I'm looking for (which nobody seems to make). :) I guess my taste is different than most others. :)

I'd like a curved (radius to match the lines in the wheel) vertical plate with a frame and a light. A design which minimizes seeing the mount itself.

Accutrontics doesn't have a vertical with the radius, and the mount is very visable. To me the mount changes the lines in the rear too much.

Shayne's is the only one I've found with the vertical radius but it has no light or frame and the mount is rather visible ( by design, I know).

The Fury Customs product seems to be the closest to what I'm looking for (even though it is a horizontal).

Another option would be to get the vertical radius plate mount that Kuryakyn offers, make my own mount and add the LED light screws to finish it off.

Kryakyn - Metric - Curved Tip-Back License Plate Frame

Too picky??

Nope, ya gotta go for what ya want. I agree with you about the mount btw; even though I think Troy's is beautiful, I also finally decided I wanted one that minimized the mount itself and just left the plateholder. Ergo, Joe Gore's setup.

Maybe he can do that curved horizontal plateholder for ya; dunno never talked to him about that one. Be sure to post when ya get something goin'.
