I just thought I share this little fact with those of you who have installed the Cannella risers before you find out the hard way like I just did. The ignition skull key mod. no longer fits into the gas cap to unlock and open your gas cap once the Cannella risers have been installed. I found this out the hard way after my fuel light went on and I pulled up to the pump for gas. I pulled out the skull key out of the ignition to unlock the gas cap as usual and surprise. I found the new angle of the dangle with the pull back from the Cannella risers has now changed and positioned the speedo head in direct line with the gas cap leaving enough room to fit your stock only but not enough room for the skull key. I was very lucky to have had a hide away key on board or I would have had a long walk home. I have a few different ignition key mods and when I got back to the house I tried them all and found that none of them fit anymore so for those of you who have the skull key or the grip end or another other style key mod you have you might want to consider trying out your key on the gas cap after installing the Cannella risers or you to might be in for a little surprise as you sit t the gas pump with your fuel light on and no way of unlocking your gas cap.

Bob the skull keys cost $29.00 for the blank and then you take it to your local hardware store and have them cut it to match your key.

Dave, how many ignition keys do you have? I hadn't thought about getting some made.....how much does it cost to have one made? Who did it, Honda dealer?
I have three different ones. I've got the skull key, the Honda grip end mod and a stiletto end also I made up and all three of them do no longer fit but I'll make some modification to compensate for the new room needed. I've heard from a few members who have the skull key with the Cannella risers and their skull key fits fine. I think when this skull key was originally made it never got pushed in and set properly because it always appeared to me that it was sticking out a little further than should be. If you purchase one make sure you tell them what it fits because there air two types of key blanks made for the Honda and one sits in a horizontal position while the other is in a vertical position and if you get the wrong one like they originally sent me the skull will be facing in the wrong position. If I remember correctly you want the L style blank but I would have to recheck it to be sure.

Custom keys Are great, but only for american/canadian models.

Europe and i guess australia have got the hiss system, so there is some wiring inside the key knob.

Thanks Dave, I was curious as to where you got the key portion itself. I want to make up my own key cover using the FBI seal. I have a medallion with the bureau emblem on it and I was gonna uv protect it and figure out a way to mount it as a key cover. I was just going to use the spare key to do it with....I have the cannella risers on now (like'em) but have no probs with just using a spare key for gas.

Dave; From what I understand, you can put a torch to the epoxy and soften it up to push key in farther, You might have to drill out some? then repoxy flush if needed. Never done it, just some info somewhere in my mind. I believe it is L style-Horizontal

Mental, How do you suggest heating it up? I know you said use a torch but do you mean directly on the apoxy or heat up around it? I have the key blank but haven't got it cut yet so I want to push it in first.
I also asked low and mean about being able to access the gas tank with the 8% and risers. They did not know if you would be able to?

On the epoxy. You might have to smooth it with new. Why do you want to set it before you get it cut? Follow their directions. L&M-They did not invest in a set of risers to find out. I do not even know if the cannella risers will work with kit- no info. That is what info I have, and I have a direct line! They don't know- so I don't.

Interesting to say the least!! I have the Canella risers and have the skull key knob from Knobbit. I buried my key into it so far that it just clears the outer ring of the ignition switch by a hair. I have no issues with the fuel cap access other than it took a little getting used to.. Maybe the skulls you guys have obtained are larger or deeper.

Here Here! On America's Birthday we should all discriminate less and enjoy life more!

...and then tomorrow we can all go back to being self-indulgent fools.
