Has anyone else noticed that the chrome on the stock headlight seems a bit cloudy? No matter how much I polish it, it never looks bright like the bars.

Yea... I don't think they put much nickle into the finish on the plastic parts (probably a single coat)... least that's way it looks to me, as nickle is used to get rid of that blue hue (by adding a more golden hue to it) that you see on regular parts... Whereas the chrome has a blue hue to it, that is why I personally think it only has one coat of nickle... and that it is plastic of course...

Have you also noticed the two allen head screws that hold the headlight in are not position the same the on left side to the right side. They are off center to each other so if you were to try to dress up the screw heads with a button topper it would stand out drastically and look funny.

Interesting that it is only the headlight that looks out of place, the other chrome plastic seems OK.

I'm going to hit up my Honda dealer and get them to get another one in as a spare part so that I can compare the two. You'd think on a AU $ 20k bike they could use a steel headlight.

Yes, agree with the steel headlight, but it's going to be hard to replace as that is the housing for most of our electronics up front... sooo, I respectfully disagree with you... the other pieces look out of place too... move that mofo around a bit and you will see (light plays a big issue)... One of the first comments that I got besides the nice comments was about the engine pieces, they asked if they were plastic and had to agree that they were... presuming that they knew because of that "bluing"....

Think we've all seen that one too... but, will the electronics from the light work and fit inside of that light... like somebody else said, if you've already done some rewiring, it might not be an issue, but besides that... could very well become an issue if you don't know what you're doing...

What new bucket would or did you use Red? Just curious since you are very knowledgeable and didactic!

Thanks
Led
I was thinking of changing out to the Cobra headlight as well, it looks like a viable option. But, no... have not done it yet, all my projects are/should be coming to fruit within the next couple of months, hopefully by then I'll have replaced the headlight as well.

The Vampire line will match the turn signals and the fender details of the new after market stuff for the Fury! Supposed to resemble the Dracula hair line. They offer matching signals.

OFF TOPIC-Im gonna get the 1-3/8" LED turn signals that Headwinds has. They are made from the best spec and look solid. But really expensive.

Save some coin, both are made in China.

Chrome Billet Headlight 5-3/4" Tri-Bar
Oh, nice find there!!! Have you read what they leave out of those chinese replica's though? Read through some of the headwind products and they will tell you exactly what they leave out... but, I will definitely bookmark this headlight. Thx.
