Stock support has to go completely. And no. The only support for this fender is the chrome struts you see on the outsideDoes the the stock fender frame rails have to be cut to make this fender fit and would Tony's new rear mod help enhance the look of this fender by dropping the ass end a little more?
I'm wondering and if anyone feels me on this lemme know.1) I am going to put the 250 tire and wide wheel i just have to do this mod in stages because of the cost involved .
2) Ihave been looking at the bike and thinking the L&M drop spring would be sweet
3) installing the kit was not really hard it was just a little nerve racking getting the holes drilled and the fender square on the center of the rear tire other than that it was easy .
4) I called Kurt to have a few questions answered and he told me that he was going to do a really indepth how to install the kit and post it to the internet just dosent know when he will have time to get it done .
5) yes you have to cut the rear frame out here are some more pictures
I thought the same way looking at the photos of the frame, the frame and tank have a great angle. Good job Mr. Conti. People forget that Bob Conti did the design on this chopper, he was/is a custom builder of bikes, USA Company.I rode the bike with out the seat on ( I have enough padding lol ) man talk about sitting low and into the bike it was sweet I am thinking about having a seat pan made . I thought it was cool![]()
For now, get a metz 200 tire... looks wider and will fill up that fender more, I am guarantee it will look better... L&M spring will help too... I am about to pull the trigger on the 200 metz, but I am trying to figure out if I want to do the L&M rear RIM conversion for the 240 tire or not...Tony I have the left side tag mout with the brake light on top .
I have the corbin seat I am taking the bike to corbin they are going to use my bike to make a pan and seat for the sumo fender kit .![]()
Let me answer this honestly... if you fit it to where the shock is completely out of the bike and where the fender frame "ribs" is touching the tire, then there should be no problem. It's not the fender nor the tire that you should honestly worry about, but the suspension travel + the height of where the actual tire/fender/swing-arm combination and frame that you have to worry about. If the tire is less than the swing arm it will fit, but... try it without the shock in (takes 10 minutes or less to take out the shock) and that will give you the "travel height" that you are looking for, then judge it by the frame and you are set. This is a 3d moment that you learned about in school people and have been waiting for to figure out why did I learn this... "moment", x,y,z.Be careful of a lowered spring, I have already fit everything for the stock suspension; the fender may hit the tire when the shock is completely compressed, unless L&M's compressed shock length is the same as stock. I should have Chris respond to that.
