The motorcycle gods are against me!

Today was SUPPOSED TO BE THE DAY I picked up my brand new Fury! I called to see what time I should stop by the dealership and I got the dreaded "uhhhh... ...uhh .... Hold on a second... ... ...it looks like your bike was sold." Needless to say at that point I got fury-ous. After fighting for two weeks to get any sort of feed back from them about my financing and about the status of the bike (I should have known then what kind of business I was dealing with but I really wanted this Fury and I had already put a down payment on it) that was the last thing I wanted to hear. Well, after arguing with the salesman and demanding to speak to this manager and that manager we had come to a fair deal where they were bringing me in another that was to be in that afternoon and he would contact my bank and my insurance and clear up all the information and give them the new VIN numbers and CALL me the second that bike came through the door. Well SURPRISE! He never called me back. I cannot wait until tomorrow when I get to tear into them for a second time and get my money refunded for the down payment.

ANYway, now that I got that off my chest, I just gotta say it seems like the universe is doing everything in it's power to keep me from getting my DREAM HOG!

wow that's a shitty deal man...I would be pissed too
I have noticed that there are a lot of crappy Honda Dealers out there.

Not only Honda dealers, a lot of motorcycle dealers are just bad. My local Honda dealer is great, very professional but the only Johnny Pag dealer in Sydney leaves a lot to be desired.

Macxpert, who is your local dealer - are you referring to Freedom or SCM in Lane Cove?

I'm also on the Northern Beaches and just doing my shopping around for prices. The market is pretty tough but it does not look like Honda is giving much in terms of discounts. I had a test ride on Friday at SCM and really like the Fury - the other bike on the list is the Triumph Thunderbird but I haven't taken that one out yet.....if I can do a good deal, I may not bother and just get the Fury.
Can your dealer get the one you want from another dealer? I wanted the Matte Silver last year....my dealer couldn't get it for weeks....I saw it at another dealer about 50 miles away....told my dealer....the dealers made a trade with each other....I got my Fury in two days. That's what a good dealer can do for you. Of course, I bought 4 bikes from my dealer in the past. ;)
Damn sorry to hear that. I would stand firm on the refund and take your credit approval and business elsewhere. Even if you have to drive a little being treated like your business matters is worth it.
The Store in Scottsdale, is outstanding. I just sent the GM a copy of your thread. He wrote back the following:

Where is this guy? We can ship him a bike! Give him my name and cell number

lol if he would have read the thread he would have seen that he's from PA lol. Anyways, yeah that is a shitty deal that the dealership gave you, I would definitely find another dealership to deal with even if it was a little drive and out of my way just to prove to the dealership that you was serious and that they lost your business not just for the purchase but to service the bike also. Man it pisses me off just thinking about that and it's not even me that got screwed. Well I hope things work out for you and that you get the Fury that you want for a good price, good luck.
did you leave a hard or soft deposit?

Regardless, a phone call needs to be made to Honda Corp. Be sure to let them know THEY need YOUR business, and that you are now not sure where you are going to be spending your money.
Good idea CB!

I am referring to Freedom, call in and speak to Lenka and she will fix you up. I got the best price in town from them and they are the closest dealer to me. You just would not expect the local guy to do the best deal especially up in the Northern Beaches but they did with no pressure, no BS and a can do attitude. All the big Honda dealers just quoted full retail price and were rude to boot. I like the way Freedom look after me, I called one Friday afternoon with a puncture in my rear tyre, I dropped it in after work and asked Lenka if the bike could be ready by 11am on Saturday as I was riding to Gosford with my mate so he could get some parts. Lenka said no problem, she called me Saturday at 9am to say the bike was ready. The mechanics stayed back late and did my bike just in case they could not fix the puncture and they had to get a new tyre on before I was scheduled to do a 170 KLM round trip and leave at 11:30. I appreciate that level of service. If you want more info on Freedom then send me a PM.

The Fury is much nicer to ride than the Triumph, although it is a good bike as well.

Cheers

Thanks Macxpert

I have been in to see her a while ago and given your good experience, I'll drop in see what she can do for me. I would prefer to support the local business.
I would notify Honda as CB said, and tell them that you want one within 7 days delivered to your dealer or next closest dealer and you want it at cost, because dealer doesn't deserve $1 profit.
The universe has finally turned in my favor. As of yesterday I am now the proud owner of an ULTRA-metalic blue Fury! After 6 solid hours (and many sore fingernails) of sticker/reflector removal and detailing she's ready to take back out into public. I decided I had to show her off to my father last night so I ended up driving over some pretty wet roads and she got filthy!

I knew I had made the absolute right decision because just on the ride home from the dealership I was stopped at lights and at gas stations and at diners and just so many people commenting on how awesome the bike is!

I'm pretty sure that I'm comming down with a bad case of (bike) fever and I might have to call in sick to work tomorrow! :D

Looking forward to the many many miles of happiness I will be getting out of my Fury.

better quality pictures will be comin.

Glad you got everything worked out. I have the black and am starting to hate it LOL. Today i got snagged twice and asked a decent number of questions by interested people. Then since its black I get alot of finger prints and a few boob prints on it.
