I am just replacing mine within the next week as the front tire is pretty dead at 14,5XX. Not bad in my opinion.

I have ordered the Metzelers as I hear that they have better grip and last longer.

Do you guys find that to be true? They definitely are expensive. I am in PA near Philly and most of the roads just suck lol.
Metz will grip a lot better but dont last as long.

I got 9 thousand out of the original tires. Rear was competely bald no tread and showing cord. And the front might have 1/8 left on it. Remind your self I don't do burn out ether. But I do ride her hard! Must be that PCV warring them tires out. Lol

Replaced front at about 16,000 but back tire is still stock and going strong at 22,000 miles. None of my friends can believe I've gone this far on a tire and it still has tread on it.

Gdubb hasn't been on since late 2014. Sold his bike September of that year I believe.
His profile pics showed Dunlop E3's. 16,000 from the front is good but 22,000 from the back is friggin amazing if not hard to believe.

Isn't the front tire A LOT softer compound so the grip is better? The rear? .... I still have a Yamaha Vstar with 10k miles on it - the front tire is about gone - but the rear shows about 1/2 tread. But that is a pure cruiser that is not hotrodded AT ALL !

Just put on my 6th back tire. I have only put 14,330km on this tire. Pretty sure I could have put on 3 or 4 thousand more but I am taking a long trip and didn't want tire to wear out on the trip.

Total tire life so far:

Back - 200/50R - 18
April 27, 2012 - 21,469km - replaced OEM with Metzeler ME880
September 28, 2012 - 32,822km - replaced Metzeler ME880 with Dunlop E3
June 12, 2014 - 50,564km - replaced Dunlop E3 with another Dunlop E3
March 29, 2016 - 72,730km - replaced Dunlop E3 with another Dunlop E3
May 30, 2017 - 87,060km - replaced Dunlop E3 with another Dunlop E3

Front - 90/90 - 21
April 27, 2012 - 21,469km - replaced OEM with Metzeler ME880
July 8, 2013 - 44,703km - replaced Metzeler ME880 with Dunlop E3
May 26, 2015 - 60,720km - replaced Dunlop E3 with another Dunlop E3
August 12, 2016 - 82,741km - replaced Dunlop E3 with another Dunlop E3

Still liking the Dunlop E3's for mileage but next time might try Metzeler ME888 to see if they are better than the ME880.

Have a great summer folks!

Stock Metzeler 880's on 2013 purchased in October 2014. 12,073 miles on June 10,2017. Sat in dealer shop for 14 months due to Auto Clutch install. Recommended replacement do to dry rot. Continued riding until wear bars visible on front and squared off/stepped out in a curve, on/in the rear.
Bridgestone replacements: Excedra G701 90/90-21/BT028R 200/50R-18.
I'm a Bridgestone fan and wanted to try these first before trying the 888's next and whatever after that.
I am very impressed with my first ever set of Metzelers. I find zero faults with these tires!
I've locked the front brake at spitting lane speed in stopped traffic, with the wheel turned and, it loudly screeched as it plowed straight ahead, when they were new.. The rear stepped out after it was squared off and almost bald last weekend, going across ACH.
