 I think alot of the vendors are taking advantage of us they know we are exited about our new rides, and are charging for that exitement..! Forward controls $800.00 Air cleaner adapters $100 + Air Cleaners $400 + Think about it ? We need to band together and demand they treat us like customers not ATMs ...Are bikes new are very nice, mods are a + but not a must.. they need us not the other way around....next time you buy something let them know give me a fair price or keep it..

If you think that's bad one company in Europe is charging USD $1,217 for genuine Viper pipes which is way out of what I consider reasonable and it doesn't include postage nor UKs 17.5% VAT. So probably around USD $1,500 on delivery.

It may be down to their economy, unlikely. But I think they are cashing in on the Fury's potential popularity over here in Europe.

You guys don't know how lucky you are in the US for parts.
Yes, overall the prices do seem ridiculously high from some vendors.

A running thread with approved parts and prices for the Fury would be a good idea.

Also, Honda UK charge USD $532.00 for official sissy bar and back pad. What are they trying to do price the Fury out of the European market. Their in danger if killing it off through over pricing and scaring punters away.

I hear ya Sea Dawg. 250 and 275 respectively for the rear and front signals from Raw. They are just LED's, how they heck can they cost so much. Sure I can afford them, that's why I bought them...but really. I am sure if I was a smarter man I could build my own for probably 1/3 of the price.

You are 100% right, they need us a whole lot more than we need them, well, that is until we want to "pimp our rides" so to speak.

Also, can anyone help out the new kid here and tell me why my profile picture won't display??

Its the nature of the beast. I can tell you stories from the Tuner Scene over the last 10+ years of products that were going for an arm and a leg, that now barely sell on Ebay now for p-nuts. I cant tell you how much money i made of Scion swag that i got for little to nothing and made a nice amount of money on it.

Give it a couple years and prices will be down where they should be. Just for this reason, im not bank rolling my add-ons into the price of the bike. I just dont see paying $650 for an exhaust set up, and paying interest on top of it over 5 years. By the time its all said and done, that $650 exhaust is considerably more.

I can't blame them for getting what they can while they can. We're excited obout our bikes and farkle-anxious. I went through the monthly bill-paying ritual yesterday. I had to slap myself and vow not to spend any more money on this bike for awhile.

A running thread with best prices would help. Also some easy way to locate opinions of vendor service and reviews of products by real-life customers which would be us.

I put a lot of stock into what real life owner/riders have to say about products on this forum.

This is actually a great idea. I have this same thing on my Scion forum. It is a sticky up top where its easy to find. Basically its a thread where any member can post their likes and dislikes about vendors and what price they paid. It can make easy work for anyone looking to make a purchase, and it will cut down on repeat threads that take up much needed space on this forum.

The Raw Stealth LED is actually a reasonably priced part, the led's are about 75 bucks, then you gotta add roughly 60 for the Brake module, leaving 135 just in electrical, then the metal is probably about 25-35 bucks so its only a 100 mark up but you gotta take out machining time too.

The main things that i think are getting gouged are forwards (at regular retail pricing), ehxaust (a little), Intake adapter, and side mount plates

That does sound reasonabally correct. I guess I am just cheap :)
Nahh i thought it was high at first then i checked the LED's out to do it myself and saw the price, was still going to do it myself to save about 75-100 bucks because I am being very cheap on the bike (until hydroboy sold his Raw Stealth to me for 100) and i dont mind the work. About 90% of the products availible though you can DIY, Its just having propper tools or finding ways to do it with hand tools and kinda tearing it down in your head.

Im thinking about building my own forwards, or building an adapter plate to run Harley or another common forward that will be significantly cheaper. Priced it out and the Master Cyl is roughly 110-150, then about 75-200 for pegs (including lever pegs) that will bolt on, then its just making 4 plates, 8 spacers, 2 levers and the time. If i find a nice set of Forwards that i like for about 2-300 i will do an adapter plate, if not then i will probably buy parts and cut all my own brackets Unless i get some extra cash and can buy these with adapter plates to make them fit

I'm with you Sea Dawg. I'm convinced that there is at least some truth to what you say. I also believe that Forum members, being one of the primary demographic targets for many of the vendors, banded together, for the common cause of more reasonable pricing, may have a little clout in making that happen. I don't think anyone is suggesting boycotting or anything like that, but simply expressing a common voice of discontent regarding what might sometime be considered extreme pricing practices. I know I've been discouraged enough on multiple occassions to turn away from buying items that I really wanted.

As I already explained in another post, the price of RAWS lights is just about right... I did make some raw replica's for my rear LED lights & the cost me about 160$ just for the LEDS and the module... minus cost for aluminum brackets... just my 2 cents on RAWS lights...

Thats why my bike is still stock after almost a year of owning it. I just cant spend as much on exhaust for my bike as I did for 5'' stainless steel exhaust for my truck. Smaller parts for my bike cost double what they do for an F250. Its just vendors taking advantage of us.
JMart standard Bike exhaust usually starts around 400, If you shop around and look at some of the VTX 1300 pipes like i did, the Heads bolt up the same, main thing is having to mod the bracket to fit them you can find cheaper pipes, mine were 215 after shipping for Jardine's for a vtx1300S/R/T. They sound awsome but stick out a little further than i would like, all i had to do was bend the mount in towards the tire at the top a little since its a vertical mount and ours is an angled mount, and redrill the bracket to bolt into the oem bracket. Ill send you a PM with some info

Back to the subject of vendors taking advantage of us and a new bike .....It's true.

Being on this forum for a while now, I can almost see why the vendor will ask what he wants unreasonible or not. Seems like a lot of people either have a shit load of cash, don't give a crap about price or just plain jump the gun like its a contest to have something someone else doesn't have. With that said, that is most likely why vendors say screw it...these guys will buy anything that is cool so what to hell charge them up the ass. And there are tons here that do just that.

The Fury does need some aftermarket make up...got it, but just seems there are a lot of guys that are going after crazy shit....and will pay 10 times more for it than what most would for any other bike out there.....that in turn smells like a freakin feeding frenzy to the vendors, 1 or 2 years from now, the average Fury on this forum will have $18000 to $20000 in it defeating the purpose of an affordable chopper. Guess one can't say a hell of a lot about the HD status crowd or BD owners. Just my thoughts on it.
