first off i should say HI and the forums offer alot of info wich seems to be helping make my decesion easier. My problem is this....I have rode sport bikes for a long time, everything from a 250, to a zx14. I currently have a o6 zx6r 636 that is lowered, stretched, power commander,k&N,nitrous. the bike is stupid fast but i no longer enjoy just ridding it. After seeing the Furry i have fallen in love, the looks and the way the bike feels makes me happy :) But i havnt gotten the chance to ride one, and the dealers where i live wont let you unless your ready to buy one. My question is this does the furry have much a** behind it? im scared that if i get one i will be dissapointed because it could be a dog. im not looking for it to be like my sportbike, but stop light to stop light, or keeping up with the local HD boys would be nice. My buddy has a M109r and i rly dont wanna have to listen to him bragg about spanking me on a furry lol. any help or comment would be awesome. i love the looks and the feel of the bike.

I can't believe they won't let you test ride a bike before making your decision. I myself have never owned or even ridden a sport bike. However, I have ridden plenty of cruisers and this fuel injected 1300cc Fury has some kick to it. It isn't something I'd take to the race track. There's always gonna' be someone faster. For the type of bike it is it has plenty of power IMO. I ride with a club of guys that all have nothing but HD's and I have absolutely no problem keeping up with them.

I believe you would love the Fury and have no regrets once you bought it and rode it. However, personally, I wouldn't buy any type of vehicle without first test riding it. The Honda shop here in my town allowed me to ride the Fury 3 times before I finally decided to buy one. I took it out of town and rode it everywhere.

yea i gues im going to have too look around for a place that will let me ride it. I didnt ride my sport bike before i bought it ,but then again i had 2 636 before i got this one so i knew what i wanted. Being the person i am it wouldnt take long before i had as many mods as possible for it. exhaust, air cleaner, exc. I rly like the looks of the bike, looks like i need to find a place that will let me ride it. funny thing is i didnt want a cruiser until i sat and looked at the furry lol, now i want one but i want it to have some muscle behind it too.

if you test ride it and are ready to buy tell them hey lets negotiate price to get to somewhere both of us are happy, heres a deposit that if i like the bike i use as a down payment and if i dont like i get back. usually then they know you are serious. It also depends on the sales person you talk to since some have more pull for getting customers taken care of with test rides. Rick Case here in south florida one sales person couldnt do it the other was able to get the test ride. Almost all of them wont allow it unless you have an endorsement though due to liability issues.

I guess it depends on how much muscle you want. It is what it is. It's not an 1800cc. It's a 1300cc. The fuel injection really gives it some pep, but if you're used to that sportbike....I hope you're really ready for less zip in the throttle. As I said, I've never ridden a sportbike, but it's obvious they have insane power with a simple twist of the wrist. Many others on this forum are sportbike riders so I'm sure they will give you the assessment for which you are looking. I would like it to have a little more power, but I'm very satisfied with it's performance. I weigh well over 300 lbs and this bike pulls my fat ass off the line pretty good.

I'm also a sportbike guy. I currently have an 05 CBR600RR and an 05 ZX10r parked next to the fury. I can tell by the mods done to your 636 that you are going to be VERY disappointed in the power of the fury. Its going to be like climbing out of a race car and hopping on a lawnmower. The fury IS a great ride though. If you can go out riding and have nothing to prove, definitely consider the fury. However, you will be outrun. A lot. The fury tops out at 100mph and takes a long damn time to get there (compared to a rocket). If you really gotta have one and can't handle not being able to go fast, keep the 636 too. That's what I did....:D

I am thinking about keeping the 636 so i have both. But i wanting something i can ride and enjoy a night on. so maybe a furry would be enough for in town that i wouldnt be that disapointed. the things is as far as cruiser goes i think there all mostly ugly besides the furry, maybe a vtx 1800 modded right, or a harley nightrod.

VTX1800 F2 was the bike i was about to get before the dealer played games and i was able to get this at the same OTD price as the 2007 vtx1800. Its like going from a camaro to a caddy. the Caddy is much more comfy and relaxing for getting around and in all reality still a D#@% good car but the camaro is much more fun to play with

Cost of insurance, senseless riders and lawyers have made the shops nervous. I just bought one without riding it. Dealer told me I could return it if not satisfied. That way, if I wrapped it around a tree within the first couple of miles, it was my issue. I'm sure if I returned it, they would have just torn up the paperwork.

I love the bike. I have a VFR800F1 Interceptor for the days I need to go fast or want sport riding. I bought this because the riding position with forward controls is much more comfortable after four knee operations and the styling is great. The stock pipes are throaty with the V-twin. The bike has a lot of plastic parts, but they look good and are easy to maintain.

It is winter where I am so other than riding it home in 20 degree weather, the only thing I have been able to do is the blow dryer removal of stickers, side cover nameplates and reflectors. I may get some custom paintwork done.

Buy it. You'll love it.

As previously stated, the Furby will be a great bike for you to cruise around on and spend a night out on. Again, you're gonna wanna keep that 636 for when you feel like twistin the tail on somethin that'll pucker up your dirt button. :D

Let me give you my 2 cents because you sound like me last summer. I have rode sport bikes since 1994 starting with a ZX-9R and still have a 08 CBR 1000RR. Last year I went on a long trip with my MC and I swore I would buy another bike that coming monday. I was between a Harley Rocker C and the Fury. After riding both I hated the rocker, plus at standstill the tranny was in the side of my left leg. The fury felt perfect.

Yes it is a different ride style but after a week you get used to the turning style and the sheer difference in the 2 types of bikes.

Sadly the only times after I bought my Fury that I touched the CBR was when I was modding the fury and didn't have it. I am currently debating selling the CBR and I haven't even got to ride it after all the mods were done.

I hope this helps. You can't go wrong with the Fury, especially now that the aftermarket is filling up with goodies.

I guess it all depends on who you want to impress the most.

Peronsally I like the comfort and the style of the Fury. I have gone on several rides with a mixed bag of bikes and never had a problem keeping up with the crowd. Plus it is a nice feeling to have something that is differnt than the rest of the crowd.

Same advice applies to bikes as it does to women. The best you can do is go with your heart and your guts tell you.

Guessing this is one of those posts that is supposed to stir us up... give up on your big dog or hardley... Uggg... hate rereading these posts when I'm drunk as it makes me hate other brands of bikes more and more... no wonder there is a split between the bike makers... it's some of the riders that make people hate the different brands. Really... ? can't correctly spell Fury... whatever...
