how much good does that wind screen do? it it sure doesn't look like much.. and is it just me, or does it seem like instrument cluster act like a wedge and direct the air flow right in your face? i note a big difference in wind resistance from this bike and my 06 1300 c. all i can figure its the wedge shape of the instrument cluster, directing the air flow... any thoughts here? I know also its got to do with ur height (im 5'9" and a buck 25 soaking wet)

I've noticed it is way worse on the interstate than around town, I don't even wear my jacket anymore because the wind catches it and wants to pull me off, on my sportbike it was fine because of the riding position "obviously".

on a windy day on the highway it can be pretty brutal. but on a calm day going 60+ doesn't seem to be too bad.
I'm still not convinced the windshield is worth the cost. probably have to test drive one at a dealer with windshield installed if i ever get the chance before i'd fork out the cash.

the thing looks as tho it would be pretty useless as a wind screen. hell it don't really look all that good on the bike in my opinion. and my guys at the shop say its a permenant mount as opposed to a quick detach. im like you, i don't know that it would bwe worth the cost. on the other hand, if it deflects the wind flow up higher above you than the speedo mount does, it might just make a difference. never know till u try i guess.. wonder if my buddy at the shop will let me "borrow" one to find out? haha ill ask him and post some "good news" if he does.. hehe

I posted an answer to a similar question a little while back in another thread; don't remember where. Stated at the time I thought the windshield did absolutely nothing at less than 50 mph, but at highway speeds deflected about 10-15% of the airstream over the driver (I'm 6'2".)
But having put about 150 miles on the bike since adding the windshield I have to revise that downward, to about 6-7% at most. Is it worth it? ... meh ... hard to say. Gotta agree with the poster that the fury's windstream is kinda brutal compared to other bikes I've owned, so in one sense even a tiny bit of help is worth it, but it's not gonna make a dramatic changes for you, I don't think.
On the other hand the screen collects a lotta bugs on muggy Ohio evenings, which would all be splattered somewhere else without it so I'll keep it on the bike for the forseeable future I reckon.

I hate windshields! I bought one Last year for my VTX 1300 and I used it maybe twice.
I think they look bad. and I would rather deal with direct wind than the buffeting you get with a windshield. I don't think the Fury windshield does dick, other than maybe keep bugs off your speedo.

lost shore, to my knowledge no one yet makes another wind screen for the fury, other than Honda's little half assed excuse for one.. i went back and talked to my boys at the dealership, who have one on their demo bike... they said the same thing, below 50 it don't help at all... above that and they all say that all it does it buffet the wind stream and it hits u from quote "wierd and odd angles"... so for the money, it ain't worth it.. and until someone else comes out with another windshield, we stuck... besides, i gotta agree that windshields are made for goldwings and convertable crysler seabrings!! (hehe that rhymes), so to hell with a windscreen for muh FURY!! ima roll with out it i reckon!! haha

I find this interesting, before the Fury I rode a 1100 Shadow with and without a windshield and it did ok with the wind (70-80 mph) but with the windshield off the wind blast coming over the handebars was a bitch. I find with the Fury that the frontend rake & headlight along with the (a little too small) windscreen cuts the wind (70-80 mph) a lot better, the wind just swirls around me (5' 10" 220 lbs) now with just a little buffeting.

I was on the Garden State Parkway yesterday doing a consistent 80-90 MPH. It wasn't too bad. I was wishing I had a full face helmet on because there was a lot of sand getting under my glasses. It was the end of a 170 mile trip, so I'm sure some of my frustration was due to being a little tired.
